DBX 2.0

Celestial Knights is a Dragon Ball Z-themed MUD that, while rooted in the CircleMUD and DBX codebases, has evolved into a distinct and highly engaging game. The remnants of its origins are minimal, giving way to a unique blend of gameplay mechanics and rich content.

Starting out in Celestial Knights may feel gradual, but the game quickly picks up pace as you acquire the necessary skills to tackle formidable bosses. Defeating these bosses yields gear that not only enhances your power but also opens the door to challenging even mightier foes.

One of the standout features of Celestial Knights is its gear system. Each piece of boss gear drops with randomized stats within a set range, making the hunt for better equipment an exciting endeavor. There’s even a chance to obtain "legendary" gear, offering superior stats and added thrill to the farming process.

The game’s diverse racial traits add another layer of depth, with each race offering unique bonuses or drawbacks. These can range from damage reductions or boosts to increased hunger rates, making each race suitable for different playstyles and ensuring a fresh experience with each new character.

Despite being in development for almost a year, Celestial Knights boasts a surprisingly large game world. There are four extensive main planets to explore, all interconnected via a larger space map. Players can fly out of a city to the world map of the planet, and from there, launch into space. Additionally, a vast "afterlife" area awaits exploration upon death or via portals.

Instead of traditional room descriptions, Celestial Knights utilizes a map system for navigating areas, planets, and space. This approach offers a unique and visually engaging way to explore the game world.
