Crime City is a text-based mafia MMO that runs in your browser — desktop or phone, no download, free to play.

You start as nobody with $1,000 and fifty tickets. You rob, you train, you join a family, and you climb the respect rankings past everyone else trying to do the same thing. It is the crime-and-train loop that Torn, Omerta and MafiaMatrix built the genre on, with one structural difference.

THE WHOLE CITY WIPES EVERY 25 DAYS.

A season runs 25 real days. Then everything resets and everyone — the last champion included — restarts at level 1. Nobody defends a throne, they re-earn it. This is the fix for the single most common complaint about every long-running game in this genre: that a player who signs up today can never catch someone who has been training since 2009. Here, the ladder is decided by what you did this month.

DEATH IS PERMANENT.

In most games in this family a beating is a hospital timer — sit out twenty minutes, come back. In Crime City a successful kill operation ends that character for the rest of the season. Enemies are liabilities you carry for weeks instead of respawning inconveniences, and the top of the leaderboard stays genuinely unstable until the final day.

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO

- Robberies, from petty theft up to planned jobs with a crew

- Train strength, intelligence, charisma and resistance at the gym

- Found or join a family — shared treasury, facilities, gang wars, sabotage

- Car theft, street racing, the casino, the black market, a player-run flea market

- Bounties, kill operations, jail breaks and hospital stays

Sessions are minutes, not hours. Actions run on timers that refill whether or not you are online, so checking in a couple of times a day is a normal way to play it.

FREE, AND FREE TO FINISH

The whole game is free. VIP exists and adds optional perks, but it is an edge rather than dominance and sells nothing a free player cannot reach.

Top finishers each season are also rewarded in $CRIME, a token on Solana. To be precise about how optional that is: you can play an entire season with no wallet and no crypto involvement whatsoever, and nothing about signing up or competing requires one. It matters only if you place high enough to claim a prize.
