You wake beneath the surface of a lake.

You do not remember choosing to come here.

Beyond the water lies Grimwych: an abandoned village of empty homes, forgotten buildings, overgrown paths and places that feel as though they have been waiting for someone to return.

Then you discover the road out does not lead away.

Grimwych is a character-driven dark fantasy roleplaying game focused on collaborative storytelling, exploration, mystery and character relationships. Rather than following one enormous predetermined plot, players are encouraged to create their own stories, form connections and gradually uncover the strange world around them.

Bring an existing character you already love, or create someone entirely new. Characters do not need to abandon stories being played elsewhere; Grimwych can simply become another strange chapter in their life, an alternate path, or somewhere they were never supposed to reach.

The setting has deliberately been designed to grow through roleplay. There is no huge lore bible to memorise before you begin. The central mystery is simple: you have arrived in Grimwych, you cannot currently leave, and nobody knows exactly why.

What happens after that is shaped by the characters who arrive.

Explore the village. Claim abandoned spaces. Discover unusual locations. Form alliances, rivalries, friendships and relationships. Investigate the things that do not quite make sense. Ignore them entirely and open a shop if you would rather.

Grimwych is actively developed around roleplayers, with features including character journals, RP invitations, quick travel, IC and OOC boards, a player wiki and tools designed to make finding and maintaining roleplay easier.

The game is particularly suited to writers who enjoy dark fantasy, supernatural characters, slow-burn storytelling, character development, mystery and collaborative worldbuilding.
