Legends of War is a revived Diku/Merc/ROM-family fantasy MUD, originally created in 2003 and now back in open beta after nearly 20 years offline. It is a Warcraft-inspired kingdom war game built around Lordaeron, Draenor and Kalimdor, with a large connected world of cities and wilderness regions.

Choose a kingdom and build through a refreshed class roster with modernised classic identities: Mage, Druid, Warlock, Priest, Paladin, Ranger, Shaman, Warrior, Monk, Rogue and more. Progression runs through classic but familiar loop of levelling, exploring and becoming stronger. Combat has been actively modernised from legacy MUDs to more familiar WoW mechanics.

Legends of War is still a real text MUD: command-driven, dangerous, social, sometimes unforgiving, and best when players are pushing into the world together or fighting over it.

Recent work has added a secure web browser client and a fresh take on a familiar engine. Come back an relive some late 90's early 2000's nostalgia.
