I played this game for a couple of years, really invested my time in it and working with the community. It is fun at first, but it becomes blatantly obvious that the majority of longtime players who hold all the power hate each other and refuse to work together, not even on projects which would benefit the entire game. This forces newer players to unknowingly choose sides when they pick an established PC to work with, and throws a ton of baggage on you that you wouldn't be aware of if you haven't been playing the game for years and years. You will find out too late that the longtime players have boxed you in with whoever you happened to fall in with as a newbie.
The largest problem is staff micromanaging everything. They spend all their time intervening in small IC conflicts between players that should have been allowed to play out naturally. The staff will start a roleplaying hook, give up on it without telling anyone, and then say "how dare you" to players who decide to take it from there and play it out among themselves.
Many people have complaints about meaningful progression in your role being unreachable (which is true), but I personally made peace with that and enjoyed the game as a nobody commoner. Even as a nobody with no clout at all, staff will be micromanaging your every move and making you retcon even personal scenes played between two PCs. Even when those involved thought it went well and had no complaints.
The strengths of the game are its crafting systems and its scope - how much there is to discover is impressive. Unfortunately, staff are only invested in the players who have been entrenched in the game for literal decades, and treat all other characters as disposable for their ends.
